Why become a qwoffer?

Well, besides the obvious response why not? there are many many cool things you can do here at qwoff:

There are thousands of wines on the qwoff winelist, wines from all over the world, wines rated and reviewed by other qwoffers. You can search by virtually any catagory you like (and we have a very cool custom qwoff winesearch engine, hope you like it!), or you can try one of our Top 100 Hotlists.

Now this is what qwoff is all about. Here’s where you get to rate wines, write your own reviews (in any style you like!!), keep track of tasting notes and tasting tags of the wines you’ve tried. That wine might already be on the qwoff winelist, or you might add a new wine.

This is where you get to catalogue and maintain your own wine cellar. Keep track of the wines you own, and every time you taste one, write a review, compare it with the last one you tasted, see how the wine’s ageing, that sort of thing. There’s a lot of expensive software out there that does just this, but at qwoff it’s FREE!!

Ah, yes. This is where you can keep track of all the wonderful wines you’d like to own. Realistic or not, they might be wines you’d like to try, or they might me wines you intend to buy. Print the list out, take it shopping with you, or have a look and see if you can get them direct. You might even find we’ve organised a red hot deal on some of your wines. It’s nice to dream...

This is the really cool part of a wine community site, is that you get to make new winefriends. Like a review you read? Found a qwoffer with similar taste in wines? Invite them to be your winefriend! You can recommend wines to them, send them a message, keep an eye on what they’re drinking, and how they rated those wines. And you might just discover some nice new wines along the way.

Now it’s important at this juncture to point out that we at qwoff are firm believers that there is absolutely nothing you need to know to enjoy a nice wine except how to open the bottle. But in case you did want to know something, here’s the place to ask it. Post a question, and other qwoffers out there will (hopefully!) provide you with the answer. You can answer other qwoffers’ questions, rate other answers, there’s even a nice qwoff glossary of wine terms you may find handy when writing your reviews and tasting tags.

Okay, so we’re not really a wine sales site. There are millions of those out there, good luck with it. However, we do endevour to make some of our wines available to our qwoffers direct from the wineries, and we do every now and then hunt down a red hot deal for our members. It’s a great chance to pick up a bargain, and there’s all sorts of tasty little treats that pop up from time to time. Your orders go straight to the wineries, through our secure portal, so you can order with confidence.

To those of you familiar with the term, it’s pretty simple - this is our qwoff blog. For those of you who were just thawed from kryogenic freeze, this is where we of the qwoff team share our thoughts and discoveries of the wine world, and keep you updated on developments with the site. Mostly it’s fun reading, occassionally there’s something we absolutely MUST share with you. Check it out.

Here at qwoff we like to reward those who give. We like to encourage participation, enthusiasm... So we have a system. Qwoff points. It’s quite simple - the more you do, the more you earn - add a new wine, review a wine, answer a question, invite a friend - all these things will earn you qwoff points. And as you earn more, your qwoff status will rise, up to the esteemed and inevitable ranking of qwoffmaster, which, you will find, is a very special thing indeed...
